ADOPTION DETAILS

Thank you for your interest in our puppies! 
Our goal is to raise healthy and happy, well adjusted puppies with great temperaments!

WHAT TO EXPECT

If you are interested in a puppy, the first step is to fill out an application so that we can review your information. Please include as many details as possible as we want to know about the families where our puppies will be living. Once we receive an application, we will arrange for a telephone interview.  Puppies are temperament tested and taken for their vet examinations at 7-8 weeks of age.  We then make our breeding decisions from the litter and puppies are assigned following our choices.  Puppies are assigned based on temperament.  If you are specific on size, gender or color, you may have to wait a bit longer for the right puppy to join your family.

HAND DELIVERY

If you are located out of the area, please plan to make arrangements to pick up your puppy at our home in WI.  Puppies picked up at our home in WI will also have sales tax.  Depending on our schedule, we may be able to hand deliver your puppy or meet you at one of the local airports - MSP, ORD, or MKE.  Hand delivery (flying in cabin or driving) is $500.  Cottage Grove Acres will pay for any expenses above the $500.  If you plan to fly your puppy home, please call the airline to make sure they allow puppies to be carried on the plane.  

ALL OF OUR PUPPIES COME WITH THE FOLLOWING:

  • fully health tested parents
  • 2 year genetic health guarantee
  • temperament assessment
  • microchip
  • spayed/neutered OR strict spay/neuter contract by 6 months of age (significant fines if not spayed/neutered)
  • up to date on vaccinations
  • up to date on dewormer
  • veterinary health certificate
  • small bag of food that your puppy has been eating
  • information on grooming, training and socialization
  • 4 generation pedigree

RESERVATIONS/VISITS

If you are interested in a puppy from us, we highly recommend reserving a puppy from an upcoming litter by submitting an application.  Once your application has been approved, a non-refundable deposit will reserve a spot on an upcoming litter.  Most of our puppies are sold in advance of being born.


Please remember we are based out of our home.  For the safety of our dogs and puppies, we do not allow visits unless you have an application and deposit on file. Upon submitting your application, we will be in touch to discuss the next steps in getting a puppy from us.  

PRICING

All of our puppies are $2000 plus sales tax or delivery.  Once we chat and both agree to move forward a deposit of $500 is required to make a reservation for an upcoming litter.  If for some reason one or both of us don't feel it is a good fit, I will provide a recommendation to another breeder.  Half of the remaining balance is due upon the birth of your puppy and the final balance (including delivery or sales tax) is due when the puppies are 6 weeks of age.  

FOOD

  The puppies eat Life's Abundance Food at our home.  You can purchase this food at this link and should do so before brining a puppy home.  We will offer small bags for sale on pickup day.
